Scholarship

Local 1035 awards two $1,500 scholarships to dependent children of Local 1035 members who excel academically. To be eligible for this award a candidate must:

1. Be a student enrolled in a community college, junior college or university;

2. Have demonstrated a high level of academic achievement as evidenced by the maintenance of a grade-point average of at least 2.8 upon a 4.0 scale;

3. Have completed successfully at least one academic semester or equivalent at a community college, junior college or university of the applicant's choice as a full-time student for the academic year as defined by the educational institution;

4. Be a dependent child of a person who is a member in good standing of Local 1035, and who has been a member in good standing for at least two years prior to the date of the application;

5. Demonstrate qualities of citizenship and responsibility, as well as personal integrity which are consistent with the purposes of organized labor and Local 1035.
